Romenian lessons
Hello! I would like to have lessons in Romenian. Thanks!
Dear Kerna,
Dear Kerna,
Thank you for your interest in our Romanian lessons.
We provide free online Romanian lessons, we are happy to answer any questions that you might have on Romanian language, however we do not provide private classes.
Best regards
thank you plus corrections
I've memorized most of these now. Thank you.
Some corrections:
On Tuesdays I have guitar classes [no 'the']
On Thursdays I have fun with friends
On Fridays I leave work earlier
On Saturdays I watch a match
[for these last three sentences, you should use the present simple, not present continuous, because the action is regular rather than at this moment]
Many thanks Harris,
Many thanks Harris,
You are right, and I feel a bit embarrassed that I did not spot the obvious past simple marker of the repetitive actions.
This is a fundamental difference between Romanian and English, that Romanians do not have this distinction in the way the verbs are constructed between the simple and continuous form. If I'm not mistaken it is the same for the other Latin languages, French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese.
Your help is much appreciated!
I've corrected the sentences.
Happy to help!
problem with exercise
I really cannot see why this is wrong:
Question 1 / 24
Ce zi este…? (What day is it...?)
Ieri a fost sâmbătă. Azi e [ duminica ]
Error message
Incorrect! Please try another answer!
Thank you for your question,
Thank you for your question,
The correct answer is "duminică", thus in your answer you need to replace the last letter "a" with the Romanian special character "ă".
They seem to be similar but the pronunciation is different. Here is the place where you can here the difference between a and ă
https://www.learnro.com/romanian-vowels-pronunciation
That reminds me that I need to add the same guidance in case most of your answer is correct to guide you on how to correct it, similar with the "Start learning" types of exercises here at learnro.com.
Happy to help!
Spelling of "duminică"
> The correct answer is "duminică", thus in your answer you need to replace the last letter "a"...
I should ave noticed that, but I see that I was misled by the lack of the accent in the phrase
directly above in the section "How to say On Mondays,Tuesdays - regular repetitive actions
in Romanian" (the bottom of the third table in A1.6.1).
Had it been earlier in the evening, or had I looked further up the page, I would easily have
found my error.
Thanks for the response.
Thank you for your questions,
Thank you for your questions, I'm always happy to help!
Yes, indeed, the difference especially in writing is minimal, just a little hat on the "a" , but actually the sounds are quite different in Romanian, a and "ă".
On the other hand all the answer to be wrong just because of one character is disproportionate as well, this is why in the other exercises on this site, I implemented that complex guidance for helping the students in case they made a few errors the site will guide them and tell them which are the corrections they need to make. I should apply the same logic here, for this other type of exercises.
Romanian
This has been really interesting so far! I’m supposed to be going to Moldova and I wanted to get a head start on learning some Romanian as it is their primary language. Looking forward to learning more! Thank you for making it easily accessible.
